Heart disease is still a leading cause of death in North America and with the epidemic of stress in our everyday lives still a constantly escalating threat it’s really no surprise. So why don’t you treat your heart to a little Yoga? Why you ask?ÂÂ
Yoga helps relax the mind and body, reducing stress, lowering blood pressure, increasing circulation and allowing your body to rest deeply. This places less stress on your body and helps to keep your heart, and other internal organs, working at optimal performance. Without this, the increased stress can place a strain on the internal workings of your body, reducing the efficiency of your immune system and leaving you vulnerable, not only to disease, but to common viruses. However, the long term effect of this stress on your body may, very well, be heart disease, so take care and try a little Yoga.ÂÂ
