Fruits, Veggies Can Prevent Blood Clots
Eating a healthy diet loaded with fruits and vegetables can prevent a thrombus, a blood clot, from forming in the blood vessels and cause a heart attack or stroke.
In a recent study researchers found that people who ate the most fruit and vegetables were the least likely to have a blood clot. However, people who ate one and a half servings of red meat or procesed meat a day doubled their risk of a blood clot.
Researchers also reported that diets high in folic adic, vitamin B6 and essential omega-3 fatty acids had protective qualities.
