Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine HCI)

Vitamin B6 acts as a co-enzyme in all cells and is necessary for the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats as well as the production of antibodies and red blood cells. Lack of Vitamin B6 may result in anemia. Vitamin B6 also supports immune function and transmission of nerve impulses. It can sometimes alleviate carpal tunnel syndrome, infant seizures and PMS. People at risk of Vitamin B6 include anyone with an absorption problem such as lactose intolerance or celiac disease; diabetic or elderly people, as well as women who are pregnant, nursing or taking oral contraceptives. Mild deficiency of Vitamin B6 may cause acne and inflamed skin, insomnia, muscle weakness, nausea, irritability, depression and fatigue.
